Roulette Guide

What you see below is my collection of top-level real-money roulette sites with quick payouts. The emphasis has been on the speed of payouts and the quality of the service both because the quality of roulette games is very much the same across the board and because online gamblers have had problems with speedy payouts and service in the online casino world – and not just when it comes to USA online casinos.

As far as roulette game selection at these top-ranked casinos goes, well, it's the same in each one of them. There are only two versions of roulette – American and European – and anyone playing American roulette is a fool, since it's just harder to beat, and comes with almost double the amount of house edge.

How Roulette Works

Here's what happens in a roulette game: you place a bet, the dealer spins the wheel and depending on in which of the 38 pockets (37 in European roulette) the small steel ball lands after spinning on the wheel, you either win or your lose.

Understanding how roulette works is therefore easy and so is understanding roulette bet types – basically, roulette bets are grouped by either numbers or colors, but there are several different bets you can make:

Red or Black – Choose whether the steel ball lands on a red number or a black number.

Even or Odd - Choose whether the steel ball lands on an even or odd number.

12 Numbers – Choose whether the ball lands on numbers 1-12, 13-24 or 25-36.

Additionally, there are other number combinations that you can bet on (kind of pointless to list them all here – I'm sure you get the idea).

House edge in American Roulette is 5.26% and in European Roulette 2.7%. Why? Because in American Roulette, there are two green zero pockets (0 and 00) which don't qualify for any of the bets mentioned above. In European Roulette, there's only one zero pocket, which explains the decrease in house edge, and makes European Roulette the better choice each time you play (more & even more).

All American Roulette bets have the same house edge except one bet which you should stay away from at all costs: the five-number bet (0, 00, 1, 2 and 3). It has a house edge of 7.89% and, quite obviously, is the worst possible roulette bet you can make.

Playing Roulette Online

As mentioned, roulette is a simple game and differences between roulette games online are small. Therefore it makes sense to choose real money roulette casinos with fast payouts and other non-software criteria such as customer service, track record and promotions.

All real-money online casinos offer you a sign-up bonus in order to ”lure you in.” In many cases, these bonuses are hard to clear (in some cases they're flat-out impossible) so it makes sense to pay attention casino bonus terms and conditions.

The list of online roulette casinos that you see on top of this page is a collection of casino sites with quick cashouts, great customer service and acceptable bonus terms. They do have a wonderful casino client as well as far as software quality goes, but I paid more attention to the other criteria.
